FAQs

  • A financial adviser wears many hats: coach, teacher, accountability partner, counsellor, cheerleader. Our role is to help you maximise what you have by helping you making smart & informed choices and coach you through the good times and bad to help you avoid making emotion led mistakes. We'll start by getting to know you and what is most important to you, then we'll work with you to determine a suitable plan (called a Statement of Advice) to get you where you want to go. Generally, we'll catch up with you at least annually to temperature check your goals and progress to keep you on track. While we focus mainly on the financial aspects of your life, we are also interested in what makes you tick and making sure you're enjoying the journey.

  • Financial advice isn't just about the money. It's about having a higher level of certainty and confidence that your life is on a trajectory that you are happy with. With that being said, there is also a financial benefit (you'd hope so!). According to the CPA's 2022 Value of Advice report "the benefit of properly implemented professional advice can be equivalent to up to 30.6% of an individual’s total personal income per year, on average".  The same report shares that advised individuals report a higher sense of financial security, better mental health, better family life, work satisfaction, physical health and social life. So, the real question should be, why wouldn't you see a financial adviser?

  • It's never too soon to get quality financial advice. The sooner you start, the more likely you are to achieve the outcomes that you want. For aspiring retirees, we would recommend beginning to plan for retirement at a minimum 2-5 years out from your desired retirement date. For those aspiring to grow and accumulate wealth in general or make sure your family is protected from financial risks, the time to start organising your plan is now! Give us a call on 02 4947 2233 to begin your financial planning journey.

  • Our initial meeting with you is $550, this preliminary meeting is to get to know you, your goals and aspirations and check that we are a good fit to work together. If/when we both proceed to continue working through the process of receiving advice, we will discuss and quote all fees upfront before any work is completed. There are never any surprise bills with us! For a ballpark figure, our schedule of fees is listed in our Financial Services and Credit Guide (link) . However, you can expect to pay anywhere from $4,000 to $15,000 for a Statement of Advice which includes research, detailed and personalised advice and full implementation of the advice. The cost depends on the complexity of your situation and the recommended strategy and where appropriate may be able to be paid via superannuation or other means.

  • A Statement of Advice is a comprehensive document that covers your goals, your current financial situation, our recommended plan to achieve your goals, projections that demonstrate how you'll meet your goals and other helpful information. While you may think your question is simple and doesn't require such a comprehensive answer, we know that all areas of your financial decision-making impact other areas of your life. When we provide advice, we do it in a comprehensive manner to ensure that everything is working together as it should, including the advice you might receive from other professionals like your accountant or solicitor.  Your first Statement of Advice acts as a line in the sand to look back on in the future and see how far you've come.
